Muscat: The first edition of the “Bloom Hawana Salalah” festival will be launched during Khareef Season 2023, on Thursday, July 27, 2023. The festival is expected to attract approximately 10,000 visitors daily
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, together with the Taiseer platform, and in cooperation with several government agencies and institutions from the private sector, will organise next Thursday the "Bloom Hawana Salalah" festival (the Festival of Flowers and Life) as part of the activities of the Khareef Season 2023 in the Hawana Salalah project in Dhofar Governorate. It will continue until August 11.
The opening of the festival is under the patronage of His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The festival aims to provide an experience suitable for all ages that focuses on raising awareness of the importance of preserving and sustaining the environment
Additionally, The festival will include the implementation of entertainment activities divided into several areas, namely: a flowers and plants area, the artistic and talent shows area, garden of rare plants, birds and animals, the food area, and many other activities.
Marwan bin Abdul Hakim Al Ghassani, Director of Promotion at the Directorate General of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar Governorate, explained that the festival will include various entertainment programmes, activities and events suitable for all groups, with a focus on families and children and those with creative talents and skills, which makes it an appropriate opportunity to explore creative young talents.
"The festival is in harmony with the direction of concerned authorities in promoting tourism at various destinations and sites in the Dhofar Governorate during the Khareef season, in line with the efforts made in the entertainment industry and the implementation of specialised programmes, by creating innovative activities with a sustainable positive impact that contribute creating new tourism patterns, " Al Ghassani added.
