Muscat: A running race under the slogan: "Health and Awareness" was held at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah, Dhofar Governorate.
The Karate Academy in the Sultanate of Oman, in cooperation with the Oman Cancer Association, Dhofar Governorate branch, and the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Dhofar Governorate, organised at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah, a running race under the slogan: "Health and Awareness".
The race included a charity walk for health and awareness for a distance of one kilometre, organised by the Oman Cancer Association, Dhofar Governorate branch, and training and demonstration of karate.
In addition, The race included a beginners track for children up to 12 years of age for a distance of 2 km, an intermediate track for adults for a distance of 5 km, and an advanced track for adults for a distance of 10 km.
At the end of the race, contestant Abdulmalik bin Said Al Hashami won the race for a distance of 2 kilometres. The contestant Salim Hatem Al Amri achieved first place in the 5-kilometre race. In the 10-kilometre race, Imad bin Fahd Al Farsi came in first place.
The event was attended by a number of officials from relevant institutions and a large gathering from various segments of society.
