Oman strongly condemns burning of Holy Quran in Copenhagen

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its strong condemnation of the burning and desecration of a copy of the Holy Qur’an by extremists in the Danish capital of Copenhagen.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “These repeated provocative acts have represented in terms of insulting the feelings and sanctities of Muslims, and incitement to violence and hatred.”

The Ministry expressed its appreciation for the statement issued by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which expressed the Danish government's position in condemning this heinous act, and renewed its appeal to all countries to criminalise acts of incitement to hatred and insulting religions and beliefs.
