Muscat: Commenting on the decision of Swedish authorities regarding granting permits and providing protection to those who burn the holy Qur’an, Oman's Foreign Minister confirms that while freedom of expression is respected, such actions are a threat to peace.
His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister said: “I am shocked at the desecration of our holy texts in Sweden. We believe deeply in tolerance. We respect freedom of expression. But to stand back and permit insulting actions that incite hatred is reckless and dangerous for peace, harmony and social cohesion.”
