Muscat: The Royal Oman Police has launched a warning against a new scam method that involves compromising the bank details by fake websites offering services of domestic workers at attractive prices.
In an online statement by ROP, the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations has warned of a new fraud method circulating on social media that involves fake advertisements for a company offering services to domestic workers at attractive prices.
After entering the company's website and starting the reservation process through a fake electronic payment gateway, the user's bank data is illegally acquired to steal money from the bank account.
The Royal Oman Police has warned all citizens and residents not to share any personal or banking data through unreliable websites.
