Beware of fake advertisements on social media, advises ROP

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has warned the public to beware of new fraudulent promotions through social media platforms in the Sultanate of Oman.

ROP said in a statement: “The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Investigation monitors fraudulent methods that are being promoted through social media, including providing services to recover lost sums of money in fictitious currency trading operations by filling in fake links that are later exploited in other fraud operations.”

Accordingly, the police called on people not to get carried away behind these fake advertisements and the need to hurry to inform the concerned authorities.
