Joss Stone kicks off Middle East tour with first ever show in Oman

Muscat: English singer Joss Stone has thanked her loyal fans in Oman for the love and appreciation they showed her during the Muscat leg of her world tour.
The 31-year-old’s first performance in Oman was a one-night-only sell-out gig at the Crown Plaza Hotel at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, on Thursday, 26 April, and she made a point to thank her adoring fans before jetting off to Kuwait for the next stage of her tour.
“A beautiful day here in Oman and it's show day. Can't wait to sing some songs. See you soon,” Stone had previously said on her official Twitter handle. “We are excited to be going back to the Middle East and discovering a different country. Looking forward to seeing you all in Muscat, Oman.”
“We're here in Oman and we're ready to bring you music and soul,” she added. “Can't wait to see you all.”
The show, which began at 830pm and took place at the outdoor gardens at Crowne Plaza, featured some of her best numbers, and having received such a successful reception, she is sure to want to return to the Sultanate in the future.
Stone’s next show takes place at Dar Al Ithar Al Islamiya in Kuwait, before another event at the Odeon Theatre in Amman, Jordan. She then flies to Doha, Qatar, where she is scheduled to perform at the Intercontinental, before heading back to Europe.
“Our first show for this part of the Total World Tour and what a night,” she added. “Thanks for coming along. You made our evening, Oman. See you all soon in Kuwait, looking forward to singing some songs with you.”
Stone, who hails from Kent, rose to fame in 2003 with her multi-platinum debut album "The Soul Sessions", which made the 2004 Mercury Prize shortlist, while her second, which also went platinum, was titled "Mind, Body And Soul" and was released in 2004.
Her album – as well as the single "You Had Me" – received nominations at the 2005 Grammy Awards, while Stone herself was nominated for the title of Best New Artist. She subsequently released two more albums, Introducing Joss Stone, Colour Me Free! and The Soul Sessions (vol. 2), all of which received critical acclaim, with the latter being her fourth consecutive album to reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200 list of the world’s most popular songs.
She has won many awards, including two Brit Awards and one Grammy Award. Stone also made her acting debut in the feature film "Eragon" and made her TV debut as Anne of Cleves in the Showtime series "The Tudors".
Her latest album, "Water for your Soul" is her seventh release, and contains her signature combination of blues and soulful music.
