Muscat: The Oman Charitable Organisation received a donation of OMR557,758.809 during the campaign ‘Pain and Hope’ carried out between 7 February and-23 March for assisting those impacted by earthquakes in North Syria and south-east Türkiye.
The earthquake of magnitude 7.5 on the Richter scale had occurred on 6 February 2023 which led to the destruction of property and loss of thousands of lives.
The founder and board member of Dar Al Atta’a association Maryam bint Essa Al Zadjali, expressed her appreciation for everyone who contributed to the campaign through donations, in addition to praising the natural disasters management team of volunteers, and friends of the charity.
The donation scheme is designed to execute sustainable projects in collaboration with Oman Charitable Organisation.
“As we are a charitable organisation, we study humanitarian situations closely. The charity had previously launched several humanitarian campaigns for the people in Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, and Sudan and delivered assistance to Rohingya Muslims, she said, adding the organisation had delivered aid in the Sultanate of Oman during climatic conditions and also during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moreover, the charity would like to assure everyone that all donations collected are directly given to the needy.
A number of buildings, including schools will be repaired and hospitals will be replenished with medical necessities, equipment, and devices.
