Muscat: Children from different wilayats of Sultanate celebrated Qaranqasho yesterday.
Qaranqasho marks the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, and every child in Oman has been eagerly awaiting its arrival.
The festival is a social tradition which takes place annually in the middle of the holy month, beginning on the eve of the fourteenth of Ramadan after Maghrib prayer.
Children go around their neighborhoods in groups singing popular verses which emphasize the importance of charity.
In this regard, many institutions in the Sultanate are keen to keep the spirit of Qaranqasho alive by organizing special events for children.
