Heavy rains expected in several parts of Oman

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has alerted of heavy rains that can be expected today, Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in the mountainous areas of several governorates in the Sultanate of Oman.

The CAA, represented by the Omani Meteorology, alerted about heavy rains expected in the mountainous areas of the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah and Al Buraimi during the afternoon and evening, with chances of overflowing valleys and reefs, and hail.

It also pointed out that thunderstorms will range from 10 mm to 55 mm.

The authority also alerted of a decrease in the level of horizontal visibility, and active downward winds, with a strength of 15-40 knots.
