Muscat: A spokesperson has been appointed for the units of the administrative apparatus of state service and other public legal persons; With the aim of presenting the vision of the government agency in matters related to the services it provides to members of society, His Excellency the Minister of Information said.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Harassi, Minister of Information, stated that the Council of Ministers decided to appoint a spokesperson in order to respond to press inquiries about these services, and dealing with issues raised in the media.
In addition, His Excellency said in a press statement that the speaker will work according to specific terms of reference to ensure the strengthening of the relationship between the institution and the media, and to enhance the mental image by appearing on all media and various platforms.
His Excellency confirmed that the Ministry of Information will work to develop the necessary training plans to enable and enhance the skills of speakers in dealing with the media and related skills with high professionalism, in a way that allows them to play their roles in delivering appropriate messages to society, and informing the media of the latest developments within the scope of the government unit as required.
Furthermore, His Excellency indicated that the appointment of speakers will contribute to introducing the media and public opinion to the directions and roles assigned to government units in achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
“It is also an important direction for the media to deal with changes, and to limit the spread of rumours, especially those related to government services,” he added.
