Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has affirmed its position on peaceful coexistence at the Indian Ocean Conference, which was held in Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka.
At the conference, the Sultanate also affirmed its position on the importance of encouraging constructive relations between countries and resolving differences through dialogue, and that the idea of tolerance and dialogue is rooted in the beliefs, values and principles of peace that are well-established in Omani society.
This came during the participation of His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, today, Saturday, May 13, 2023, via video conference, in the 6th edition of the Indian Ocean Conference, held in Dhaka under the slogan, "Peace, Prosperity and Partnership for a Resilient Future in the Indian Ocean Region."
In his speech, His Excellency the Minister also referred to the importance of economic prosperity by ensuring the resilience of the Indian Ocean region, the need for sustainable economic development and investment in key sectors, and the promotion of active trade partnerships between countries.
His Excellency the Minister also called for the importance of respecting international law and constructive cooperation to face the challenges facing the Indian Ocean region.
The Indian Ocean Conference, which is held annually, is an important platform that brings together policy makers, diplomats, scholars and experts from all over the world to discuss major issues affecting the Indian Ocean region with the aim of promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
