A statement issued online by ONA said: ”The number of those registered in the Shifa application has reached 172,279 since its launch in December of 2021 by the Ministry of Health. It is considered a quantum leap in the field of digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman." It is a special platform for the individual sector, as it saves and exchanges medical information between the patient and the attending physician.
The application also displays all patient health data in a simple manner from all health institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health.
