Muscat: The revenues of 3-5 star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman recorded a rise of 68 per cent to reach OMR49.427 million by the end of February 2023 compared to the corresponding period in 2022 when it stood at OMR29.429 million, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The number of 3-5 star hotel guests stood at 357,810, comprising an increase of 37.4 per cent till the end of February 2023 compared to 260,450 guests during the same period in 2022.
The occupancy rate also recorded a surge of 37.2 per cent to reach 61.5 per cent compared to 44.8 per cent during the corresponding period in 2022.
The number of guests from Oceania recorded a significant surge of 320.8 per cent from 2,069 guests by the end of February 2022 to 8,706 guests by the end of February 2023. Asian guests followed by recording a rise of 70.4 per cent going from 24,458 guests by the end of February 2022 to 41,674 guests by the end of February 2023.
GCC guests stood at 22,365 by the end of February 2023, going up by 62 per cent compared to the same period in 2022. The number of other Arab guests increased by 54.4 per cent from 9,122 by the end of February 2022 to 14,084 by the end of February 2023.
