Over 600 expats deported from Oman in March

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has charged over 300 expatriate workers and has deported 641 of them for violating various laws during the month of March in the Muscat Governorate.

The Ministry of Labour said that 310 expat workers were charged for violations of laws in Muscat during March alone. Fifty-two of the accused workers were found to have violated Article 113 of the Labour Law by being employed in professions specified for Omanis only. 258 expats were charged for working for other employers, thus violating Article 114 of the Labour Law.

The ministry also announced that it had deported 641 expat workers during the past month for the violation of rules, out of which 414 of them fled the work and 108 worked for other employers.
