Oman's Embassy in Malaysia issues a statement for Omani students

Muscat: Omani students whose student visas have expired for more than three months will not be allowed to enter Malaysia using a social visa and renew their student visa. This will be implemented from Saturday, April 1,2023. This came as a notification from the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Kuala Lumpur.

The Cultural Division of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Kuala Lumpur draws the attention of Omani students studying in Malaysia, that the Education Malaysia Global Services ( EMGS), issued a decision stating the following:

1. From April 1,2023, all international students with an expired student pass will not be allowed to enter Malaysia using a social visit pass and renew their student pass. Existing international students in Malaysia will also not be allowed to renew their student pass once it has expired.

 2. Those students whose visa expired and did not renew it before completion will be required to submit a new application and obtain a new Electronic Visa Approval Letter (eVAL).

3. Kindly note that the Malaysian Immigration Department may allow certain international students to renew their student pass if the current pass expiry has not lapsed for more than 3 months. The decision is entirely under the discretion of the Malaysian Immigration Department
