Education Ministry announces suspension of studies in northern governorates of Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has announced the suspension of studies in the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, due to the forecast of heavy rains over the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Education said: ”The Ministry decided to suspend studies tomorrow, Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in all public and private schools, morning and evening, in the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah, provided that work in schools will resume on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.”

This came out of concern for the safety of students, in reference to Alert No. (1) issued by the National Center for Early Warning of Multiple Hazards, (NCEWMH), as well as the Central Committee for Emergency Management in the Ministry following up on developments regarding the situation of the weather with the concerned authorities.
