Majan University College (MUC) has been recognised as the 'Top Omani Brand' in the 'Higher Education' category, according to a survey
This is a significant achievement for Oman’s longest-established private sector college.
The award ceremony was held on March 15, 2023, at the Majan Ballroom in the Al Bustan Palace. The event was graced by the chief guest, His Highness Sayyid Muhammad Salim Al Said, and was hosted by His Excellency Shaikh Salim bin Mustahail Al Mashani. The ceremony was attended by representatives from various organisations, and senior representatives from Majan University College were among the honoured guests.
The 'Top Omani Brand' award is a significant recognition for MUC, as it acknowledges the college's commitment to providing high quality education, and its contribution to the development of Oman's education sector. The award reflects the college’s strong reputation for excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
In partnership with the University of Bedfordshire (UK), MUC offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the areas of business, management, information technology and language skills that cater to the needs of students from different backgrounds and interests. The college’s staff strive to create a stimulating and engaging learning experience for students, and this prestigious award recognizes their achievements.
In accepting the 'Top Omani Brand' award, Dr. Maha Kobeil, MUC’s Dean & CEO, expressed her gratitude to the organisers of the award ceremony and to the readers of Alam Al-Iktisaad. Dr. Maha also highlighted the college's commitment to providing high quality education and to making a positive contribution to society.
MUC is the oldest private sector college in Oman, having opened in 1995. Over the succeeding 28 years it has always sought to provide programmes in line with the Sultanate’s economic and social needs, and to consider the requirements of all stakeholders, including public and private sector employers. From September 2023, the college will, for the first time, be offering a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme in cooperation with University of Bradford, UK.
