Kuwait to celebrate 62nd National Day

Muscat: The State of Kuwait will celebrate on Saturday, February 25, 2023 the 62nd National Day and the 32nd Liberation Day, which falls on February 25 of every year.

During the past six decades, the State of Kuwait has achieved outstanding achievements at all levels, according to the forward-looking plans of its wise leadership, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

His Excellency Mohammed Nasser Madi Al-Hajri, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, said that the relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Kuwait are strong, balanced and identical in visions and issues in many international and regional forums. He pointed out that it is deeply rooted in history under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.

His Excellency added that Oman and the State of Kuwait share some economic projects, including the Duqm Refinery between the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and OQ Oman HE said that the State of Kuwait ranks fourth in investment in Oman according to the third quarter of 2022, where more than 500 Kuwaiti companies operate.

His Excellency, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, explained that there are continuous investments and visits between businessmen and investors between the two countries, as the latest statistics stated that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries amounted to about 700 million US dollars.

"There is close cooperation between the two countries, whether on economic, social, cultural and educational levels," the ambassador added.

His Excellency appreciated the celebrations held by the Sultanate of Oman on the occasion of the 62nd National Day and the 32nd Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait.

 The State of Kuwait has witnessed developmental progress in all fields to catch up with countries aspiring to build an honourable present and a bright future. It has contributed to playing a pivotal role in the regional and international files that it has undertaken, and has also become the focus of the world's attention in humanitarian aid.

Since its independence, the State of Kuwait has sought to pursue a balanced foreign policy, taking openness and communication as a way, believing in friendship and peace as a principle, and in human development and economic prosperity for its people.

The State of Kuwait has been keen to establish strong relations with countries and to work to strengthen the march of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Arab cooperation. It supports the efforts of the international community towards establishing international peace and security and adherence to international legitimacy within the framework of the United Nations, the League of Arab States, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement.
