Muscat: His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, has appreciated and welcomed the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik regarding the religious values that characterise the Omani people since ancient times.
HE the Grand Mufti called for amending the academic curriculum and media programmes in line with the recent Royal Directives.
HE the Grand Mufti wrote in a tweet: “This requires the cooperation of families and officials and private institutions, to achieve this, starting with amending school curriculum and media programmes in accordance with these directives, with the careful application in the lives of students, their parents, teachers, and in the life of the whole community; so that all members are valid building blocks for a high moral society."
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik may God protect and preserve him, presided over the meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Baraka Al-Amer Palace. In the meeting, His Majesty, may God preserve him, stressed the importance of consolidating the authentic Omani principles and values derived from the teachings of our true religion, and urged families to take the hands of their children and give them a good upbringing, in view of the changes in behaviours and concepts that the world is witnessing. He also advised the consolidation of some of their concepts, and the exploitation of the principles of human rights. Including justifications for imposing visions, programmes and behaviours that are not consistent with the prevailing principles.
