Entry fees for archaeological site visits announced

Muscat: The Minister of Heritage and Culture has issued a decision specifying entry fees for visiting castles, forts, historical places, centers and world heritage sites.

According to the decision, the entry fee for archaeological sites amounts to 200 baisas for Omanis aged 6-12 years, and OMR 1 for those over 12 years old. As for residents of the Sultanate, the ticket value is 500 baisas for visitors from 6-12 years old, and OMR 1 for those over 12 years old. For non-residents, the fee is OMR 1 for the age of 6-12 years, and OMR 3 riyals for those older than 12.

The minister further explained that castles and forts that are invested in by the private sector are excluded from the decision. Official government delegations and school trips organized by educational institutions are also exempted from paying the fees stipulated in Article 1 of this decision.
