Muscat: Former captain of Oman’s national team, Ahmed Mubarak Kano, has announced his final retirement from football, after a successful career that lasted 20 years.

Ahmed Kano said through his official account on Twitter: “20 years I spent in the service of Omani football, during which I tried to present the best we have, and the most beautiful thing I learned from internal and external professional opportunities, during which I carried the dreams of the Omani street, and the aspirations of the people who are passionate about football and fond of sports.”

"The beginning of our sports career started from Al Oruba, efforts and sacrifices. If beginnings have unparalleled pleasure, endings have unparalleled sadness, but it must happen"
Ahmed Kano also said: "I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to my family, who stood with me and was patient with me, and everyone I accompanied in my career journey. I will remain grateful to all my colleagues in the clubs I played for and also in the national team that I defended for nearly two decades."

"Thank you to all the coaches who supervised my training, to all those responsible for sports in the country, the fans who supported me throughout my career, the media and all the media professionals. "

" I am proud of everything I have done for my country and my professional career abroad. My football career as a player has ended and I will certainly continue my journey with it, but this time not inside the green rectangle," Kano added.
