Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said presided over a meeting of the main committee of Bilarab bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design, in the presence of the jury panel, to follow up the latest developments in the second round of the Award.
HH Sayyid Bilarab was briefed through a presentation on the work progress of the Award. He also listened to a detailed explanation about the Award’s plan in a manner that contributes to achieving its goals and aspirations.
The jury panel reviewed during the meeting the projects participating in the second round of the Award, which compete to design the Maritime History Museum in the Wilayat of Sur in the Governorate of South A’Sharqiyah.
HH Sayyid Bilarab was briefed on the participating projects’ most prominent artistic features, architectural perceptions, details, and concepts. Nominations submitted by the jury for the thirty projects that could qualify for the second sorting stage and means for their improvement were discussed.
He also expressed his satisfaction and admiration for the level reached by some projects. He praised the ideas and concepts that the youth relied on while building their perceptions. He also expressed his observations on some projects, and instructed the study of ways that enable their designers to develop their ideas within the project.
Then, HH Sayyid Bilarab endorsed the 30 projects for the second stage of sorting.
Next week, the finalists will join a technical workshop with the aim of providing them with necessary architectural skills that can guide them develop their current participations architecturally, and enabling them to reach the second sorting stage among the top 10 projects to compete for the first three positions in the second round of the Award.
