Oman’s crude oil, condensates production top 223mn barrels

Muscat: Oman’s production of crude oil and condensates recorded an increase of 10.1 per cent at the end of July 2022 to reach 223.17 million barrels at the end of February 2021, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Separately, crude oil production saw a rise of 13.5 per cent while condensates production declined by 1.6 per cent at the end of July, compared to the period of July 2021.

The average price of Omani crude oil also recorded an increase of 61 per cent at the end of July 2022 to reach $92.8 per barrel, compared to $57.6 per barrel at the end of July 2021. The monthly average price of oil also increased by 4.7 per cent in July 2022 compared to the previous month of the same year.

The Sultanate of Oman's total oil exports witnessed an increase of 16.7 per cent at the end of July 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year.

Oman's oil exports to Japan witnessed a remarkable growth of 206.6 per cent to reach 7.30 million barrels at the end of July 2022 and oil exports to South Korea increased by 68.7 per cent during the same period.

Natural gas production (including imports), on the other hand, in the Sultanate of Oman at the end of July 2022 witnessed a slight increase of 3.9 per cent to reach 30.48 billion cubic metres.

Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicated an increase in natural gas consumption in industrial areas by 13.9 per cent, industrial projects by 6 per cent, and oil fields by 1.6 per cent, while gas consumption in power plants decreased by 0.7 per cent.
