Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will organise a promotional campaign in the Republic of India which will be held from August 22 till August 29, 2022.

Oman News Agency (ONA), reported that the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will organise a promotional campaign that includes mobile workshops in the Republic of India, especially for the Indian market, due to the high number of Indian tourists coming from last January to July, reaching 167,678 .

The workshops, during the period from 22 to 29 August, will include five major cities in the Indian Republic that are a source of tourism, starting from New Delhi and then Ahmedabad, passing through Mumbai and Chennai and ending in Bangalore, with the presence of a delegation from the ministry and the participation from a group of Omani tourism companies and hotels, as well as airlines.

Through this participation, the Ministry seeks to shed light on the distinguished tourism experiences in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to promoting a number of tourism patterns, including conference and exhibition tourism.

Ms. Asmaa bint Salim Al-Hajri, Director General of the Assistant Director of Tourism Promotion at the Directorate General of Tourism Promotion in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said: "The Republic of India is a very important tourist market for the Sultanate of Oman, by presenting the most important tourism products that characterise the Sultanate, as it is of interest to the Indian tourist due to the availability of his requirements and interests during travel that suit all target segments according to the marketing strategy that we follow in our promotional work."

She added that the Sultanate of Oman is a multi-season destination famous for its natural beauty, cultural heritage and hospitality, and has attracted tourists of all classes for several years. Therefore, our focus is now on attracting more high-income travelers from all over the world to experience the luxurious and diversified hospitality that includes, for example, Kempinski Hotel Muscat, the Ritz-Carlton, Al Bustan Palace, Shangri-La Resorts, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, Salalah, Alila Al Jabal Al Akhdar, Salalah, Six Senses Zighy Bay in Dibba and other projects that offer luxurious hospitality at a high level of satisfaction.

The promotional workshops will witness meetings between the ministry's delegation with senior officials on the tourism industry in the Republic of India, as well as the Indian media.

It will also review the diverse tourism experiences that abound in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to discussing ways of cooperation, creating partnerships and contracting with Indian companies, which would contribute to the return of the tourist flow coming from the Republic of India to what it was before the Covid-19 pandemic.
