In an online statement, Sheikh Al Jarwani said, "I apologize to our children who are denied the blessing of parents, specifically orphans living in social centres and I also sympathise with our ill children, particularly cancer patients, may God heal them," before adding, "We hereby announce the decision to exempt these two categories of entrants from paying the entry fees to Oman Aquarium. We will notify the concerned parties."
Earlier this week, the Chairman had also announced that students, families receiving social security and people with special needs will be able to visit the aquarium at Mall of Muscat by paying half the price of a ticket.
“Taking into account the views of society, we have decided to reduce the entry fee by 50 per cent for three categories: students, social security families, and people with special needs,” he had said online.
“The Aquarium project at the Muscat Mall has cost more than OMR 15 million and has thirteen ecosystems to conserve the diversity of aquatic areas,” the chairman said.
Currently, the ticket price for adults is OMR8.5 and OMR6.5 for children.
