Muscat: Oman’s first snow park is set to open by the end of this year at Mall of Muscat, but visitors can look forward to a preview over the summer months, according to the chairman of Al Jarwani Group.
In an online statement, chairman, Sheikh Mahmoud Al Jarwani said, “With the help of God in the coming months, we will complete the construction of the snow park, a project with a great deal of innovative design and development unlike any other in the region.”
Speaking about the features, the chairman said, “ Built by a specialised Dutch company, the snow park covers an area of 6,000 square meters and will include more than twenty types of activities, such as ice mountain climbing and ice skating.”
As an alternative, Al Jarwani group are planning on providing the visitors with a mobile snow unit this summer which will be in place until the snow park project is complete. “Negotiations are currently underway with a French company to install a 2,000-square-meter mini-mobile project which will be ready in time for the summer vacation. Once the park is opened the mobile unit will be transferred to Sohar,” the chairman added.
