Muscat: Sreehari dominated against his opponent Granth Johri in the boys under-13 final at the PITSTOP-ISC badminton tournament which saw Sreehari coasting to victory 21-9, 21-7.
In the under-13 girls, Durga Devi won the title by beating Bhoomika in two straight games 21-13, 21-13. In the men’s singles matches, Abdul Salam was too strong for Ramesh winning comfortably 21-10, 21-13 followed by Joshua Reji winning 21-17, 21-10 over his opponent Sebastian George.
In the veteran singles, Vinod Kumar was made to work hard to overcome Aju Mathew, winning in three games 19-21, 21-10, 21-19.
In the men’s doubles, Aaron Aju & Mathew beat Swami & Sabu 21-16, 21-16, while PT Francis and Ashutosh beat Hemant and Faigee 21-17, 21-8. Action in the men’s doubles continued with Sunil and Ajay defeating Sainath and Carlton 21-7, 21-9, George and Manoj won over Vinod and Jaimon 21-15, 21-17, Abdul Salam and Samir defeated Sundar and Sebastian 21-12, 21-15, Abin Jose & Mony won 21-16, 21-13 over Umman and Nishant and Vaishakh and Jeswin won in three games over Aaron Aju and Mathew 22-20, 21-18, 21-10.
