Police seize over 2,000 packages of Khat

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), has foiled an attempt to smuggle more than 2,000 packages of khat drug into the Sultanate of Oman by four smugglers.

"The Coast Guard police, in cooperation with the Department for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, led by the Dhofar Governorate Police, thwarted the attempt of four infiltrators to smuggle more than 2,000 packages of khat into the country by sea. The legal procedures are being completed against them," ROP said in a statement.
