Rock Collapse: GFOW calls for Labour Ministry investigation

Muscat: The General Federation of Oman Workers (GFOW), has called on the Ministry of Labour to conduct an investigation following the rock collapse incident that occurred in the Wilayat of Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate.

"The General Federation of Oman Workers received news of some workers being trapped and others dying in the incident. The Federation stresses the necessity of the establishments' commitment to implement occupational safety and health measures, it calls on the Ministry of Labour to conduct an  investigation to ascertain the extent of the company's commitment to implementing those measures and procedures, " the federation said in a statement.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA),  is dealing with a report of a rock collapse on a group of workers in the Wilayat of Ibri, which led to the death of six  people.
