Sur Hospital successfully performs colon laparoscopy surgery

Muscat: Sur Hospital in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate has succeeded in performing a partial resection of colon by laparoscopy for a patient suffering from colon cancer, which is the first operation of its kind at the governorate level.

"A medical team headed by Dr Ahmed Al Araimi, senior consultant colorectal surgeon at the  Royal Hospital , in cooperation with the Department of Surgery at Sur  Hospital, succeeded in performing a surgical operation, the first at the governorate level, which was a partial resection of the colon by laparoscopy for a patient suffering from colon cancer, " Directorate General of Health Services in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate said in a statement.
