Muscat: The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) is all set to present Omar Khairat in concert with the Omar Khairat Group and the special participation of the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra this Thursday and Friday, 24 and 25 February 2022.
Composer and pianist Omar Khairat has long held the Arab music world in thrall with his unique and compelling sound exploring ways in which to combine the old age, much loved classics of such artists as Umm Kulthum and Mohammed Abdel Wahab with his own voice so that it continues to resonate with audiences from all around the world. The resulting style has garnered Omar Khairat widespread acclaim. His music bridges contemporary Egyptian and Western music.
Audiences are invited to embrace a beautiful blend of cultures with a master of the art. Winner of awards both locally and regionally, most notably the Middle East Music Award and the 1993 Oman Award, Omar Khairat will perform arrangements of works by Mohamed Abdel Wahab such as “Men Gheir Leh” and songs of Umm Kulthum such as “Enta Omri”.
Adding to the wide appeal of this talented artist, the concert will be enriched by the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra.
