Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is one of the most important commercial markets in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), accounting for 20 per cent of of the UAE’s total trade with the GCC countries and ranked ninth globally at the end of 2021, His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, said the Minister of State for Foreign Trade in UAE.
"The work of the second UAE-Oman Economic Forum began in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, with the aim of building a growing partnership in the economic sectors of interest to the two brotherly countries," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, pointed out in his speech that the Sultanate of Oman represents the second largest Gulf trading partner of UAE, as it accounts for 20 percent of the UAE’s total trade with the Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC) countries.
His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, stressed in his speech that the forum is an important and distinctive addition to the history of economic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and an opportunity to explore areas of partnership and cooperation between the two sides.
