Earth-moving equipment seized for violating environmental laws

Muscat: An earth-moving heavy equipment has been seized for paving a path in a turtle nesting site in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

The authority said in a statement that the Environment Authority in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate seized an heavy equipment paving a path for vehicles to cross on a beach in the Al Dafa area of Niyabat Ras Al Hadd, as the beach is considered a nesting site for sea turtles. The legal measures have been taken against violators.

 The Environment Authority calls on everyone to adhere to environmental laws.
