Weather update: Cloudy skies to continue in Oman

MUSCAT: Oman's governorates will continue to experience cloudy skies on Saturday, as authorities predict the peak of the weather condition to begin tonight. The Public Authority for Civil Aviation released the weather update for today, April 13.

"Cloudy in most of the Sultanate's governorates with chances of rainfall with various intensities, sometimes thundershowers accompanied by fresh winds and hailstones on most of the northern governorates of the Sultanate and parts of the governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar. Dust and sand are likely to rise in the desert and open areas," the meteorology authority said.

Temperatures in Muscat will reach 34 degrees Celsius and a low of 26 degrees Celsius, while Salalah will experience a high of 30 degrees Celsius and a low of 26 degrees Celsius.

Wilayat Sur and Mahoot are expected to record the highest temperature 37 degrees Celsius, while Jabel Shams will record the lowest temperature, 8 degrees Celsius.

On Friday, PACA announced that "The peak effect of the system is likely to being from Saturday evening April 13 to Sunday night April 14th with rainfall amount ranging from 30 to 75 millimetres."

Adding that, "The weather condition will start to weaken gradually from Monday morning."
