Expats arrested for illegal beach sand mining

Muscat: A group of expats have been arrested for transporting beach sand without permit in Dhofar Governorate, the Environment Authority said

A statement issued online by the authority said: "The Directorate General of Environment in the Governorate of Dhofar, in coordination with the Royal Oman Police, has arrested expatriate workers who transport beach sand without permit in the late hours of the night. Legal measures have been taken against them."
