Five fishing vessels seized in Oman

Muscat: Five fishing vessels have been seized by the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources for fishing in a prohibited area in Dhofar Governorate.

According to the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources, the fisheries control team seized five artisanal fishing vessels using nets at less than the permissible distance and fishing in an unauthorised area in the Arabian Sea adjacent to the Al Halaniyat Islands. The necessary legal measures have been taken.
