Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has offered its condolences for the families of those killed in a chopper crash in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

The list of fatalities includes the Indian Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and several Army officers.

Oman News Agency, ONA, said in a statement: “The Ministry of Foreign expressed the Sultanate of Oman's condolences and sympathy to the friendly Republic of India, the government and people, and to the families of the victims of the helicopter crash carrying Chief of Staff General Bipin Rawat today in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India.”
