Doha: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar held a round of official talks at the Amiri Diwan in Doha on Monday.
At the outset of the talks, Sheikh Tamim expressed his warm welcome to His Majesty the Sultan for accepting the invitation. He wished His Majesty and the accompanying delegation a pleasant stay.
In his turn, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Tamim for the warm welcome and hospitality.
During the session, the two leaders discussed areas of cooperation between their countries and means of promoting them in various spheres to meet the aspirations of their people. The session also reviewed other matters of common interest.
The talks session was attended from the Omani side by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba’Owain, Minister of Labour and Najeeb bin Yahya Al Balushi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Qatar.
It was attended from the Qatari side by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, Minister of State (Head of the Mission of Honour), Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Emiri Diwan, Dr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance, Dr. Ali bin Said Al Marri, Minister of Labour and Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to Oman.
The session was also attended by a number of officials. Afterwards, His Majesty the Sultan and Sheikh Tamim held a closed-door session.
