Muscat: The National Competitiveness Committee today held its third and last regular meeting for this year in the Ministry of Economy headquarters under the chair of His Excellency Dr. Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, in the presence of their Excellencies, and representatives of the private sector, members of the committee.

The meeting discussed a number of topics on the agenda, most notably the Global Competitiveness Yearbook, the World Federation of Competitiveness Councils and the Global Competitiveness Report. The meeting also discussed the 'Guide' of the National Competitiveness Office on the mechanism of the Office's work, in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.

Guide aims to enhance and raise the Sultanate’s competitiveness ranking in the international indicators and reports. The Guide makes proposals for improvement mechanisms, follows up their implementation, and defines the mechanisms for dealing with international reports and indicators issued by international organisations.

It is worth mentioning that the National Competitiveness Committee is concerned with proposing improvement policies to raise the competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman, in an effort with all concerned parties to achieve advanced ranking in international indicators, especially those included in Oman Vision 2040.
