Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation has issued a ministerial decision No.86/2021 to establish Duqm University College.
The first article of the ministerial decision stipulates that a private university college called Duqm University College will be established. It will have an independent legal personality and shall be headquartered in the Wilayat of Duqm in the Wasta Governorate.
The second article said that Duqm University College is subject to the laws, regulations and decisions regulating the applicable private colleges and higher institutes, and its president represents it before others.
The third article said that the founders of Duqm University College shall be given a period of six months from the date of this decision to complete the study requirements and the necessary procedures for the college to practice its business.
The fourth article said the decision to start studying at Duqm University College shall be issued by the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation after the college has completed all the academic requirements, material and human components and other requirements for implementing the licensed study programmes for the college in accordance with the conditions and controls established in this regard.
The fifth article stipulates that Duqm University College accept Omani and non-Omani students who hold a general education diploma or its equivalent in accordance with the conditions determined by the college in accordance with the laws, regulations and decisions that regulate this.
The sixth article said that Duqm University College, after the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, should grant the appropriate academic qualifications in accordance with the National Framework for Academic Qualifications.
