ROP arrests five expats in Oman

Muscat: Five expats have been arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP) for  smuggling 61 boxes containing more than 4,200 cans and bottles of alcoholic beverages.

"The Coast Guard Police in Musandam Governorate, in cooperation with Khasab Special Tasks Police Unit, seized two Asian boats in the Omani territorial sea while their crew of five expats were exchanging 61 boxes containing more than 4,200 cans and bottles of alcoholic beverages. The legal procedures against them are being completed," ROP said in a statement.
