People have been asked by the Royal Oman Police to stay away from wadis.

Muscat: People have been asked by the Royal Oman Police to stay away from wadis and other low-lying areas, which are prone to flash floods and could lead to injury or loss of life.

“Dear citizens and residents, unless the situation is safe, be careful and do not risk crossing wadis, which could endanger your life and the lives of others,” said the ROP in a statement.

“Don’t risk your life by crossing a wadi unless you make sure of the water level,” they added.

The National Committee for Emergency Management added in this context: “Please do not cross wadis unless it is safe to do so. Expose neither your life nor those of others to danger.”
