Muscat: Establishments affiliated to the Ministry of Health continue providing health services to patients during the tropical cyclone “Shaheen,” which is currently affecting a number of Governorates in the Sultanate.

The Ministry of Health raised the preparedness of its establishments in governorates that are expected to be affected. It also activated the emergency response sector, emergency subcommittees and plans related to such circumstances.

The ministry ensured the availability of personnel, medicines, medical supplies and other needed logistical services used in emergency cases.

Health establishments in other governorates, that might not be affected by the cyclone, are also on standby to provide support.

The treatment services of kidney patients in some health establishments were transferred to other establishments. Moreover, one of the health centres in the Governorate of North Al Batina was evacuated.

Moreover, the Ministry of Health’s call centre receives case reports and inquiries 24/7, and helps in guiding people to activated health establishments based on their treatment needs.
