Earthquake hits Southern Iran

Muscat: An earthquake was recorded in Southern Iran on Friday, according to the Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) at Sultan Qaboos University.

A statement issued online by the EMC said: "An earthquake in Southern Iran with a magnitude of 5.1, at 5.15 am MCT and at a depth of 29 km has been recorded. The earthquake was recorded 674 km away from Khasab."
