Muscat: “Say Praise be to God” is the title of the Friday sermon today, after the decision to allow the resumption of Friday prayers in Oman's mosques.

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs said Friday sermon in the mosques of the Sultanate for this week entitled "Say Praise be to God."

The Friday (Juma) prayer was stopped in Oman mosques in March 2020 as a result of COVID-19 repercussions. The Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 had issued a decision on September 19, 2021 to reopen mosques for Friday prayers from September 24 with specified protocols, including entry to only fully vaccinated individuals, and requesting a commitment to social distancing, bringing special carpets and mandated wearing a face mask along with permitting only 50 per cent of the mosque's capacity.

The sermon will also be broadcast live on Oman TV.
