437 workers in Oman found violating Labour Law, 286 deported

Muscat: In all, 437 workers violating the Labour Law were detected during the May 29-June 4 week, according to the Ministry of Manpower.
The weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower pointed out that the number of workers violating the Labour Law during the week that ran from May 29 to June 4, 2016 stood at 437 workers.
The Governorate of North Al Batinah witnessed the largest number of workers violating the law with 139 followed by the Governorate of Muscat with 75.
The competent authorities at the Ministry of Manpower are taking the legal procedures against them.
Deported
On the other hand, the Manpower Ministry statistics showed that 286 expatriate workers were deported for violating provisions of the Labour Law and the ministerial decisions executing the law.
