WHO Director-General lauds Oman's efforts to deal with COVID-19

Muscat: The Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has praised Oman's efforts in dealing with COVID-19, during his meeting with the Minister of Health.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Saidi, Minister of Health, reviewed, during his meeting with His Excellency Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO, the epidemiological situation in Oman and its efforts in dealing with COVID-19. Along with the continuous follow-up of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, a comprehensive and integrated methodology is taking place among all Government agencies, in addition to great societal awareness of citizens and residents.

The Director-General praised the efforts of Oman represented by the Supreme Committee in charge of examining a mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of COVID-19, in line with the recommendations of the WHO through the implementation of many measures that contributed to reducing the spread.

Dr. Tedros, visited the immunisation centre at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, where he was briefed on the progress of the vaccination process for the target groups within the national campaign.
