Muscat: National Museum vaccinated 100 per cent of its employees and their families as part of the National Vaccination Campaign against COVID-19.

More than 25,000 people were vaccinated during the national immunisation campaign held at the National Museum.

On 6 September, 2021, the National Museum concluded the National Vaccination Campaign, which was organised by the Badr Al Samaa Group of hospitals and medical centres at the National Museum`s headquarter, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, for a period of two months starting from 7 July to 6 September, 2021. The campaign is a contribution from the Museum to support the efforts of the Supreme Committee dealing with COVID-19 resolutions.

A ceremony was held to celebrate the campaign in the Land and People gallery. A short film was presented documenting the journey, which includes pictures and statistics about the campaign.

The number of institutions covered by the campaign reached 350, and the number of beneficiaries reached more than 25,000, which includes both locals and residents. The number of employees at National Museum and employees of agencies and companies operating in the museum and its other facilities was 150, with a vaccination rate of 100 per cent.

Sameer PT Chief Executive at Badr al-Samaa Group of Hospitals and Medical Centres, said, “I would like to first thank His Excellency Jamal al Moosawi for this wonderful opportunity. In the beginning, the hospital faced a problem regarding the crowding of patients and we had difficulty in locating a corporate space to carry out the vaccination. We were delighted when His Excellency offered the National Museum as a venue as we transferred all our corporate employees into a wonderful safe space. In the end, we managed to immunise over 25,000 patients from 350 corporate institutions and we look forward to collaborate with the museum with another health-related campaign in the future."

A number of citizens and residents expressed their satisfaction with the organisation and the smoothness of the procedures followed at the immunisation centre. The vaccinators added that the vaccination process did not take more than 15 minutes.

Some supervisors of the vaccination centre also expressed their satisfaction with the high turnout of locals and residents, which indicates the keenness and awareness to fight COVID-19.
