World scout conference opens

Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Directorate General of Scouts and Guides participated in the activities of the 42nd World Scout Conference which kicked off on Wednesday.

The event organised by the World Organisation  of Scout Movement (WOSM), via videoconferencing,  from August 25 to 29, saw the participation of 172 countries.

The Sultanate’s delegation was chaired by Dr Yaqoob bin Khalfan Al Nadabi, Director General of the Directorate General of Scouts and Guides and membership of 20 scout leaders from the various governorates of the Sultanate.

It is worth mentioning that the conference is organised every three years and is an opportunity to the member organisations to review the policies and criteria of scout movement.
